Testimonials

I came to see Karen because I was really struggling with fatigue, bone, joint and muscle aches and generally feeling very rundown.

I was finding that whenever I did any sort of exercise, I was disproportionately exhausted afterwards and in some pain. I had put my ongoing symptoms down to the peri menopause but in the back of my mind, I was worried something more was going on as my symptoms seemed to be getting worse.

If I hadn’t gone to see Karen, I would never have thought to ask the doctor to do several blood tests to rule other conditions out. I discovered that I was very deficient in Vitamin D, low in iron and Vitamin B12.

It was such a relief to find out what was wrong with me, and Karen has put me on a path nutritionally to work towards feeling myself again.

I am so grateful to her for her expert advice and guidance and for her warm, friendly, professional, and understanding approach.,

Female early 50's

I worked with Karen for nearly 6 months and I am delighted with the results. I contacted her because of frequent bowel movements caused by radiation damage due to cancer treatment.

Over those 6 months my quality of life has improved and I’ve tried many different types of low/zero sugar food that are much better for my body, whilst being really tasty. However, because Karen believes in the 80/20 rule, I’m allowed the odd glass of wine and chocolate at weekends!

Karen has taken the time to understand my personal situation with home, work and hobbies and has made plenty of recommendations to improve my diet, sleep and wellbeing. She’s sent me links to medical documentaries, ideas for recipes (accepting that I’m no cook!) and nutrients and really gone the extra mile to help me.

I know that I’ll never be 100% again, but my bowel movements are much lower, meaning that I can leave home more and lead a better life.

Karen is a lovely lady to work with and I looked forward to our easy going meetings.

Male early 60's

I first approached Karen after experiencing severe gut problems over 5 months resulting from disturbance caused by prescription painkillers. I had lost a stone in weight & was finding it difficult to eat anything that agreed with me & to put on weight. I thought that a nutritionist could perhaps point me in the right direction to move on, improve my damaged digestive system & to boost my diet with gut healing nutrients.

Karen carefully took my whole life history & after consideration of the food diaries that I had kept for a few weeks, recommended food supplements to help repair my gut & some low FODMAP recipes which are all delicious & have been beneficial. She also suggested food swaps to replace the cravings from my very sweet tooth!

Karen is a great listener & non judgemental.I enjoyed meeting with her either in person or on Zoom; real quality “Me” time where I felt safe to talk about any concerns I was having & how I was feeling. Other parts of the programme including relevant YouTube videos & information on various vitamins & supplements & the rôles they played in the body were very helpful.

At the end of the programme I am feeling more confident around which foods to eat & have slowly begun to reintroduce more foods & to gain weight.

I would happily recommend Karen to a friend. She has a great deal of knowledge & life experience to tap into when recommending therapies to assist in one’s goals. She is very friendly & approachable & I consider our time together to have been most rewarding.,

Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee my results?

Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that. I can however guarantee that I will work with and guide you to make the necessary changes that enables your body to function better. My role is to help you provide the body with what it needs. Whilst even the simplest changes can have a powerful effect the results you can achieve can vary on many factors. I am here to guide you on your journey and set you on the path to better wellness. Sustainable changes will ensure this journey continues long after our plan has finished.

How strict will my plan be?

We never want to make anyone miserable and will always aim for balance. There is no such thing as good and bad foods only foods that may be more beneficial than others. Unless you have a true allergy to a food we will never say you can’t ever have it again. We tend to work on the principle that making wiser choices 80% of the time enables our bodies to thrive during those times when we want to have that bar of chocolate or that meal out. The stress of striving to be perfect can often do more harm than having the things we want for that remaining 20%.of the time.

How long will it take to see results?

This varies depending on your goals and current health. Some clients notice improvements in energy, digestion, or routine within a few weeks, while deeper or longer-term concerns may take more time and consistency.

What happens after my program finishes?

After your program has ended you can either book a pack of follow up sessions and have periodic check-in appointments or you can come back for a review at any time. If it has been more than 6 months since your plan ended we may need a longer first session to assess your current status and ensure your plan is still appropriate.

Do you offer any testing within your programs?

We don’t include tests as standard as this is recommended on a case by case basis and not everyone will need testing or may only need standard testing as offered by the GP. The cost of private testing will be in addition to your package price and mutually agreed as appropriate. Testing is entirely optional.

Will I have to take lots of supplements?

Our priority is always to take a food first approach - changing habits and choosing foods that foster better health is always much more sustainable in the longer term. However sometimes a small number of supplements can help to correct nutrient deficiencies or support symptoms whilst you embed better habits into your day. We always aim to keep this to a minimum and affordable whilst respecting any decision you may make with regards to the recommendations. We do ask that you check with us before changing a supplement we have recommended or adding in anything additional as we will have checked our recommendations are safe with your current health concerns and any medication you may take.
